Job: Program Associate — Part-Time

Department: HQ – Headquarters


Location: Washington, DC

The Program Associate holds a variety of responsibilities related to the research, analysis, coordination, and outreach of programmatic activities to support a high impact education department. The candidate who fills this role will work Monday through Saturday (as needed) to support student and teacher programs.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Communications
    • Work with staff to create and implement social media, website, and other online communication strategy
    • Provide a centralized point of contact to external partners
    • Coordinate internal and external requests for information and data
  • Program Support
    • Coordinate registration process for student and teacher programs
    • Assist lead instructor with student programs as needed
  • Operational Support
    • Prepare documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, and agendas
    • Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments and travel arrangements for supervisors
    • Record, compile, transcribe and distribute meeting notes

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science, education, communications, or related field
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience working in an education, nonprofit, or laboratory setting
  • Strong proficiency with research, date collection, review, analysis, documentation and reporting applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and databases
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, time management skills, and ability to juggle multiple projects at once
  • Experience in social media, newsletter, and/or website content development preferred
