The Carnegie’s Department of Embryology in Baltimore, Maryland seeks applications for an independent Investigator position (at the Assistant Professor level).
By utilizing existing model organisms and developing new ones, faculty in the department have pioneered tools enabling the study of a wide range of biological questions throughout its long history. Housed in the state of the art Maxine Singer Building next to the beautiful Wyman Park, the Department maintains shared advanced facilities that enable its scientists to employ existing and develop new technologies for their research. Candidates who develop and apply advanced computational, imaging, and genomic technologies to explore the frontiers of biology are encouraged to apply.
A current CV, 3-4-page research statement and three reference letters are required for the application. Consideration of applications will begin on October 15, 2017, but applications will continue to be accepted after this date.
The Department of Embryology is one of six departments comprising the Carnegie Institution for Science. The department functions as a private, non-profit research institute affiliated with the Johns Hopkins University and is located adjacent to the JHU Homewood campus in Baltimore, MD. The department consists of 10 laboratories studying a variety of questions in cell and developmental biology.
